Community-Engaged Data Program
The Community-Engaged Data Program is currently a pilot program that helps data-minded graduate and undergraduate students engage with communities while supporting data projects and outreach.
Community-Engaged Data Interns work with Tulane and New Orleans communities to increase access to programming around data literacy and STEM engagement, while also supporting the dissemination of data information to the general audiences.
Leaders and Interns:
Support data literacy educational programming by engaging in data-related community events through attendance, product judging, K-12 mentorship, and event planning.
Increase public access to data information by working with community partners on data-related projects.
Community Engaged Data Leaders
Throughout the academic year, Community-Engaged Data Leaders attend, work at, and put on data-related educational outreach events such as K-12 science fairs, STEM workshops, ethics bowls, and CAIDS annual events such as the CAIDS Datathon and Love Data Week.
Community Engaged Data Interns
In the summer, External Community-Engaged Data Interns work with community partners on data-related social impact projects. In the Summer of 2025, CAIDS placed Tulane graduate and undergraduate students as interns, working on data-related projects with The Water Institute and Agenda For Children.
