The Discrimination, Disparities, and Data Lab
About
D3L is a multi-disciplinary team and network of faculty, post-doctoral scholars, and students at Tulane University, and elsewhere, doing data-driven research documenting and understanding the discrimination and socio-economic disparities that minoritized groups face.
We seek to:
- Document the socio-economic disparities facing minoritized groups;
- Rigorously measure to what extent minoritized groups face discrimination in access to important markets, services, and opportunities;
- Illuminate where and why this discrimination and these disparities occur; and,
- Determine policies or approaches to reduce disparities and dismantle discriminatory barriers.
D3L was officially launched in Fall 2024 by Professor Patrick Button. D3L seeks to foster interdisciplinary collaborations and increase research opportunities for undergraduate and graduate students. We hope to expand D3L to include and support the broader research done at Tulane on discrimination and disparities.
