Statistical Consulting Center
Welcome to the Statistical Consulting Center!
We're here to support Tulane undergraduate students with their statistical research needs. Our team is passionate about helping you succeed in your research journey – and all our services are completely free!
How We Can Help
Need help with your research? We're here to guide you through:
• Planning your data collection and organization
• Learning the basics of statistical software and understanding the results
• Finding the right resources and references for deeper understanding
• Exploring different ways to analyze your data
• Overcoming research roadblocks
We offer flexible support through email, in-person meetings, or remote consultations – whatever works best for you!
What to Expect
When you work with us, we'll:
• Help you develop the skills to conduct your own analysis
• Show you how to use common statistical software packages
• Provide guidance on best practices for data collection and management
• Share helpful resources for continued learning
• Suggest different approaches to analyze your data
Important Things to Know
To make the most of our services:
• Start early! Statistical analysis often takes longer than expected, and we want to give you the attention you deserve
• Show you how to use common statistical software packages
• We focus on teaching and guidance rather than doing the analysis for you
• While we can suggest various approaches, final decisions about analysis methods should be made by you or your advisor
• We don't provide assistance with coursework – for that, please visit your Teaching Assistant, Professor, or the Academic Learning & Tutoring Center
